Our second ever Student Art Competition wrapped last month. If you missed our wrap-up story, have a read here.
We would once again like to thank Jacksons Drawing Supplies for kindly sponsoring this year's competition with 3 generous vouchers of $150 for first, $100 for second and $50 for third place.
We are thrilled to introduce you to our three winners below - with a little more about the inspiration behind each of their art pieces.

First Place
Aura Rainey, Year 10, Katherine High School
My Bush Stone Curlew is a dry point etching. It was created by scratching the image onto a plastic plate and printed by hand using the intaglio method through an etching press. This was an exciting process to learn!

Second Place
Olena Spears, Year 1, Jabiru Area School
My giant emu is drinking water from a lake. I drew the tents and houses at the bottom so people could see how giant it is. I chose lots of colours to make the picture more interesting and fun. The gold thumbprints are the magic that made the emu come to Earth.

Third Place
Nanami Dawe, Year 3, Leanyer Primary School
I like the colour combinations of the flowers. I like the highlighted water colour by white.
Again, we thank everyone for their incredible entries. Our Territory students sure do have a lot of talent! Certificates for all participants (along with a small art supply - to keep the creativity going) have been posted, and should reach schools very soon.
We look forward to seeing more entries when the competition returns in 2027!
