Support for young people aged 12–25 and their families

headspace is the go-to mental health and wellbeing service for young people in Australia. They offer free or low-cost support for things like anxiety, stress, relationships, school pressure, work or study issues, physical health, and more.
Young people can drop into a headspace centre, book telehealth appointments, or chat online via eheadspace. There’s also great information and tips for parents and carers looking to better support their teens.
Smiling Mind
Mindfulness tools for kids, teens, classrooms and adults

Smiling Mind is a free mindfulness and meditation app developed by psychologists and educators to help improve mental fitness. It’s perfect for managing stress, building resilience, and helping young people regulate their emotions - and it’s widely used in Aussie schools too.
They also have teacher packs, parent resources, and programs to help schools embed social and emotional learning into everyday routines.

Online safety advice for families, schools and young people

This is Australia’s official online safety hub. It has tailored advice for kids, teens, parents, and educators on staying safe online - from managing screen time and privacy to dealing with cyberbullying, online gaming, and image sharing.

QLife
Support for LGBTQIA+ people, families and allies

QLife offers a free, anonymous phone and webchat support service for LGBTQIA+ people, available every day from 3pm–midnight (AEST). Whether you’re questioning your identity, supporting someone else, or just want someone to talk to - QLife is a safe and inclusive place to start.

Yarn Safe
Culturally safe mental health info for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people

Mental health education for early learning and schools

Be You offers free, evidence-based tools to help early learning services and schools build whole-of-setting mental health strategies. It supports educators with training, planning templates, wellbeing action plans, and modules that can be done at your own pace.
It replaced the older KidsMatter and MindMatters programs and is now the national standard in school-based wellbeing education.
