Community Use of School Facilities

The Education Act (the Act) provides that a School Representative Body may determine and regulate the conduct of activities for the benefit of the local community when the grounds or buildings are not required for their usual purpose.

Schools play an important role in communities and can help shape a strong sense of local identity.

Schools have equipment and facilities which can be used to assist in the lifelong learning of the whole community.
