The My Schools website has generated a lot of media hype and political spin and this needs to be put into perspective. COGSO agrees that choosing a school for your child is a serious business and parents need all the help they can get. But despite what the politicians say, we don’t believe anyone should use a website alone as the basis for your choice because it can only ever give part of the story. The only way to get the full story is for you to talk to other parents, visit the school, talk to teachers and students and then weigh up all the information. You wouldn’t buy a house on what you can find out from a website, would you?
